Prayerful News Brief December 1st 2019

Every week I'm able, I record and post the End Times Mama Prayerful News Brief, which is available on Anchor, iTunes, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and more.

I also post the script for the podcast here, with pertinent links and any book recommendations.

Please give a listen, a follow, and a share!

Hello and welcome to the End Times Mama prayerful news podcast! I have taken a very long absence but I am back at it again and earnestly asking for prayers that, if the Lord does want me to do a podcast like this, He would help me to make the time for it which is a challenge!

My goal here though is to just present some of the stories I think are the most worthy of note to conservative, Christian mamas with traditional, pro-life, pro-freedom values. I would love to do a rundown of all the headlines from the week but if I'm being honest, I'm entirely too wordy to write a show like that that wouldn't take me a whole day to write and record, so I've decided to just narrow it down and pick out stories that I consider to be particularly impactful on the greater themes we see constantly at play in these crazy times of ours.

I just have to give the disclaimer that I report on these stories throughout the week as part of my work as a blog content writer, so I may not link every single story as I've just been repeating it all week. There will be, however, several links in the transcript of the podcast for pertinent stories or books mentioned, and you can find that at my blog,

Most of all though, I'd like to do so prayerfully. So, let's get started!

Obviously, this was Thanksgiving week but it has still been quite a busy week in the news. Next week, the House Judiciary Committee will pick up the impeachment case against President Donald Trump after two weeks of public hearings in the House Intelligence Committee which resulted in the recommendation of four articles of impeachment. House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler has already invited Trump and his attorneys to testify, which, regardless of what is established when that takes place, certainly would provide the Democrats and the media ample opportunity to exploit the optics of wrongdoing.

Meanwhile, the long-awaited FISA report from Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz is set to be released on December 9th, and he will appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee on December 11th to provide testimony on his investigation into potential abuses of the FISA which is the Foreign Intelligence & Surveillance Act courts during the 2016 election.

A story that I found to be particularly explosive but seemed to get little coverage is that a hearing for General Michael Flynn's sentencing has been delayed pending the release of said report. Flynn was Trump's one-time national security adviser who was awaiting sentencing for making false statements to investigators as part of the Mueller probe. He was one of the first Trump associates to be implicated in the investigation. His attorneys as well as the Department of Justice had filed a request to delay the hearing in which, along with requests for more classified information from the government that could have a bearing on the case, they also mentioned the FISA report.

The FISA report could in theory exonerate Flynn as, as his lawyer Sidney Powell has been alleging and has demonstrated rather well, alterations were made to reports FBI agents put together when building their case against him.

As for the broader Spygate scandal, I could spend hours listing all the information that has come out about the way the Obama Department of Justice and FBI investigated the Trump team to launch the Special Counsel investigation, and I could spend hours talking about the finer points of the allegations now being made against the White House in the Democrats' impeachment inquiry. I do intend to put together a crash-course guide to Spygate/the Democrats' attempts to undermine the Trump presidency that I can refer to in podcasts, so keep an eye out for that if you're interested in digging in deeper.

In short, the Democrats are gearing up to really pull the trigger on an official impeachment--remember, they are currently only conducting an inquiry, more on that in a sec--at the same time that the FISA report is set to be released and hearings held in the Senate to digest what it reveals. We already know that it will include criminal charges for FBI employees who altered documents in the early days of the Trump-Russia investigation.

Just a quick note about impeachment, in case you've forgotten high school civics: officially, the House decides whether or not the president should be impeached, based on whether or not they believe that the president committed impeachable offenses. The Senate will then hold the official impeachment trial, where they are tasked with determining whether or not the president is innocent or guilty of these offenses. However, as The Patriot's History of the United States notes when discussing Andrew Johnson's impeachment, in both cases where the US Senate has held an impeachment trial, 1868 for Johnson and 1998 for Clinton, the Senate re-argued whether or not the president's actions were considered an impeachable offense. I think it will be very interesting to see how the case is argued should the impeachment effort against Trump go to the upper chamber.

Let's move on.

Of course, the most significant story over the holiday weekend was the twin stabbing sprees in London, England and The Hague in the Netherlands which occurred within hours of each other and in which two people were killed and a handful of others wounded in each attack.

The London attack took place on the London Bridge, just yards away from where another Jihadi attack happened in 2017, that time with a vehicle.

The perpetrator was shot and killed after police observed him to be wearing what turned out to be a fake suicide vest, a common tactic for jihadis intent on being martyred.

It was also revealed that he was a convicted terrorist who was out on parole after serving roughly half his sentence for plotting other terror attacks in the country as well as attempting to orchestrate a terror training camp in Pakistan. You can read more about that on my blog, Crunchy Con Christian Mom, under "News."

Meanwhile in the Netherlands, a homeless man in his 30's has been arrested although as of this recording police have yet to release any motive or the identity of the man who killed two teenagers and wounded another amid busy Black Friday shopping in one of the city's major shopping districts.

Greta Thunberg, the teen climate activist from Sweden has recently made some statements that point to her radical views in topics beyond climate change, although she claims they are intricately linked to her mission to reduce the use of carbon fossil fuels and leave a world for future generations.

Thunberg will make an appearance at the UN Climate Summit in Madrid, Spain this week where a high-profile US congressional delegation led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will also be in attendance.

She recently wrote in an opinion piece that the so-called climate crisis needs to be addressed "must be powerful and wide-ranging. After all, the climate crisis is not just about the environment. It is a crisis of human rights, of justice, and of political will. Colonial, racist, and patriarchal systems of oppression have created and fueled it. We need to dismantle them all. Our political leaders can no longer shirk their responsibilities."

This is a statement that Executive Editor of Breitbart London, James Dellingpole, is deriding as "full Marxist."

"To anyone familiar with the workings of the green movement, Greta’s statement will come as no surprise whatsoever."

That’s why I called my book on the subject Watermelons.

Environmentalists are often green on the outside, red on the inside. Their movement is essentially a global socialistic redistribution exercise hiding behind a mask of green righteousness."

I wanted to find this book but could not, at least on Amazon, so I have linked to another book about the same topic by Dellingpole in the show script if you are interested.

Well, that is it for the news stories I thought were most noteworthy from the last week. There is a massive political power struggle in Washington DC, a huge spiritual battle being waged against the forces of evil that seek to kill and destroy in the name of Islam, and an open, exerted effort to tear down the pillars of Western society in the name of Mother Gaia.

These are all battles in which, no matter who you are you can take a part. I can't stress enough the importance of praying for our leaders and for those who have been elected to work for the stability of our republic. Pray against anyone who would seek to bring ruin and destruction to our communities and to the foundation of our uniquely free nation. Pray for those who are being roped into spiritual deception, whether they are serving the false god of Islam or worshiping the earth above those who the earth was created for.

All of these people are made in the image of God and are in desperate need of the Gospel. Pray that the Lord would encourage and strengthen the faith of His saints and that we would shine brightly with the truth of the Gospel and that our hearts would be full of His mercy and compassion for all of His creation.

So thank you so very much for listening and for praying with me and for our nation and world today. It means so much to me that you take the time and let me know that you've been listening, truly, so thanks for that! If you're new here or not yet following me on social media, please do! I put a lot of work into my Facebook page, End Times Mama, as well as my Instagram account, @CrunchyConChristianMom and my Pinterest account, Isa C. My blog, on which I am planning on publishing more frequent daily news stories and other posts with commentary, encouragement, and book reviews, is

Have a very blessed week, and Christ be with you!
